Red Hat Build of Apache Camel 4 and Spring Boot Support Transition

Updated

Red Hat build of Apache Camel 4 currently offers full support for applications running on both Spring Boot 3 and Quarkus 3.

With the community End-of-Life (EOL) for open source Spring Boot 3 scheduled for June 2026, Red Hat is announcing a planned transition path for Red Hat build of Apache Camel 4 on Spring Boot 4 support to ensure our customers can maintain a secure and supported environment.

Key Changes and Timeline

We recognise that migrating to Spring Boot 4 may not be immediately feasible for all customers.

To provide additional stability and time for planning, Red Hat designates Red Hat build of Apache Camel 4.18 as a Long Term Support (LTS) release.
This LTS designation extends the support lifecycle for this specific release by one additional year, running from May 14, 2026 until May 30, 2027. This allows customers who need to remain on Spring Boot 3 beyond the open source end of life date (June 2026) to continue receiving critical security fixes and critical patches.

Support Scope

Red Hat intends to fix security vulnerabilities as well as offer critical bug fixes in Red Hat build of Apache Camel 4.18, even after the next 4.x release (scheduled for Q4 2026). In addition, we are going to offer critical security fixes in Spring Boot 3.5 if a fix is possible. These CVE fixes for Spring Boot 3.5 are restricted to those Spring Boot components that Red Hat build of Apache Camel depends on. These components are listed in the article Spring Boot support. Any further Spring Boot 3 security fixes and bug fixes are out of the support scope.
