Resolution

On June 16, 2026, Red Hat released Helm CLI v4.1.4, marking the first version of Helm v4 shipped as the official Helm CLI for Red Hat OpenShift. This update is delivered via RHSA-2026:26441.

Platform Compatibility Matrix

OpenShift 4.22 serves as the bridge release to facilitate your transition, concurrently supporting both the Helm v3 and Helm v4 streams.

  • Helm v4 (v4.1.4+): Available and supported starting with OpenShift 4.22.
  • Helm v3.20 is supported to run with OpenShift 4.19 through 4.22[1].
  • Helm v3: Remains fully available and verified for compatibility across currently supported OpenShift v4 releases[1].

Lifecycle and Support Policy

The support lifecycle of each Helm CLI minor version follows the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform lifecycle and is pinned to the specific OCP versions it supports at the time of its GA release.
Full Support begins at GA and ends one month after the upstream release of the next Helm minor version. Maintenance Support continues after that, aligned with the lifecycle — including Extended Update Support (EUS) — of the first OCP version supported at GA time.

Helm CLI v4.1 and v4.2 are catch-up releases with a shorter-than-standard lifecycle. Helm CLI v4.3 will be released downstream shortly after the upstream Helm v4.3 release, and is expected to align with OCP 4.22 as its pinned OCP version, carrying the full standard lifecycle including EUS.
