Unpublish a workflow

Unpublish a workflow to deactivate all its triggers and prevent new runs from starting. Unpublishing does not delete the workflow or any of its versions.

Before you begin

  • A published version exists for the workflow.
  • You have permission to manage workflows in the project.

Procedure

  1. Open the Workflows page.
  2. Find the workflow you want to unpublish.
  3. Click the options menu (⋮) on the workflow row.
  4. Select Unpublish workflow.
  5. Confirm the action.
  6. To unpublish by using the API, send a POST request to the unpublish endpoint:
    $ curl -X POST \
        "${AO_URL}/api/v1/workflows/${WORKFLOW_ID}/unpublish" \
        -H "Authorization: Bearer ${TOKEN}"

Replace ${WORKFLOW_ID} with the workflow identifier.

Results

  • The workflow no longer has a published version. The version that was published changes to Previously published status.
  • Webhook triggers stop accepting requests for this workflow.
  • Scheduled triggers stop running.
  • Any runs that were already in progress continue to completion.
